Specialist insurance for domiciliary care providers
Our Care division (which includes PrimeCare and Care Home Insurance Service, CHIS) has over 20 years’ of experience and expertise in providing insurance solutions for care providers in the UK.
All our products and services are designed around the particular needs of care providers. We work together with you to understand your businesses risks and design an insurance solution that aims to provide the right cover for your business. From the simple things, such as protecting a company mini-bus, to the more complex, such as safeguarding an attack on the business registration.
We aim to provide real value to our clients, who are continually squeezed on cost. Having recently combined our care and medical practices, and being part of the world’s largest majority employee owned insurance intermediary, we now have even more negotiating power with insurers and are able to secure more competitive terms.
Our policies are sourced from a panel of reputable insurers all authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). Additionally, our covers will also meet the requirements as set out by the appropriate regulator (CQC in England, CSSIW in Wales, SCSWIS in Scotland and RQIA in Northern Ireland) and the appropriate Local Authority.
Howden is the preferred insurance partner to the National Care Association (NCA), Registered Nursing Home Association (RNHA), East Sussex Brighton & Hove Residential Care Home Association (ESB&H RCHA), West Sussex Forum (WSF), as well as others.
